Icing is the formation of ice on an object, the ground or the like occurs when water droplets suspended in air freeze on objects they come in contact with, or by water vapor sublimating. Icing can be particularly dangerous to aircraft. Icing also occurs on towers, wind turbines, boats, oil rigs, power lines, trees and other objects exposed to sub-freezing temperatures and water droplets.
