  • African swine fever (ASF) is a contagious viral disease that affects pigs of all ages, inducing a haemorrhagic fever. African swine fever is a severe threat to pig production systems. The causative agent of ASF is a unique, enveloped, cytoplasmic, double-stranded DNA arbovirus, which is the sole member of the family Asfarviridae. (en)
