DEFINITION

It is a vegetable fat derived from the kernels of the shea nut (nut kernels from the tree) scientifically known as Vitellaria paradoxa, C.F. Gaertn (synonyms: Butyrospermum paradoxum, Butyrospermum parkii), from the Sapotaceae family.
